The Killen fire department was established in 1962. Killen Fire Rescue provides the citizens and businesses of the Killen Fire District with a quality, innovative, well trained fire department. Killen Fire Rescue is also home to FEMA Light 2 Rescue Team. Killen Fire Rescue strives to reduce the loss of life and property through fire protection, emergency medical response, technical rescue response, swift water rescue, dive rescue, fire prevention education and other services as needed. Established in 1957, the Killen Police Department is located at 225 JC Mauldin Hwy, and offers 24 hour coverage. The non-emergency phone number is (256) 757-5555. If you have an emergency please dial 911. Killen employs five full-time, four part-time, and seven reserve officers.


Bryan Hammond is the Chief of Police for the Town of Killen. He has served in law enforcement since 1996 and has been employed with Killen since 1998. Chief Hammond is a member of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police and holds a level II certification.


The mission of the Killen Police Department is to ensure the safety of the citizens and businesses, protect constitutional rights and work with the community to provide a safe environment while enforcing federal, state and local laws.
