FIRE DEPARTMENT

We are fortunate to have some of the most talented individuals in the Fire and Emergency Medical Services community. All of our members are committed to providing the best services possible for the citizens of Killen.

The Killen fire department was established in 1962. Killen Fire Rescue provides the citizens and businesses of the Killen Fire District with a quality, innovative, well trained fire department. Killen Fire Rescue is also home to FEMA Light 2 Rescue Team. Killen Fire Rescue strives to reduce the loss of life and property through fire protection, emergency medical response, technical rescue response, swift water rescue, dive rescue, fire prevention education and other services as needed. POLICE DEPARTMENT

Established in 1957, the Killen Police Department is located at 225 JC Mauldin Hwy, and offers 24 hour coverage. The non-emergency phone number is (256) 757-5555. If you have an emergency please dial 911. Killen employs five full-time, four part-time, and seven reserve officers.

CHIEF OF POLICE - BILL WHITE

Chief Bill White grew up in Havelock, North Carolina, and moved to Waynesboro Tennessee as a teenager. He began his law enforcement career with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and spent the majority of his career with the Florence Police Department, retiring as a detective after years of dedicated service to the community.
 
After retiring, Chief White continued serving the public as a School Resource Officer at Brooks Elementary School and later as a Sergeant with the University of North Alabama Police Department, futter strengthening his commitment to community-oriented policing and public safety.
 
Chief White and his wife, Amanda who is originally from Killen, have lived in Killen for more than 16 years and are raising their two youngest sons in the community they proudly call home. He is excited to invest in his home community and contribute to the safety and well-being of the town he serves.
 
An avid distance runner, Chief White has competed in several half and full marathons, reflecting the discipline and perseverance he brings to both his personal life and professional service.
 
Guided by the values of service, integrity, and community, Chief White is committed to fostering trust, building strong relationships, and ensuring those principles are reflected throughout the Killen police Department.
